Overall: The stage is divided into two sets: the bishop’s office at the chancery on the left and Sacred Heart’s parlor/office on the right.

The Bishop’s Office Set: - Left Side of Stage
The main entrance is on the back wall, with another door leading out a side entrance on the left wall. There is a large window. There is an ornate desk (angled) that the bishop uses and a large leather chair (facing left front) in back of the desk.  The desk contains a phone with push button lines…also a separate intercom box and a separate single line “private” phone. In front of the desk are two leather chairs for guests. There is a large crucifix on the wall behind the bishop’s desk.  And a lit portrait of the pope on the wall to the right of the desk.  Under this portrait is a liquor cabinet which could pass for a piece of furniture..

Sacred Heart Rectory Set: - Right Side of Stage (“V” Formation)
Left side contains entrance to this (rectory’s) parlor/office.The hall should be visible to the audience as quite a bit of activity happens here throughout the play. On the right wall is a window. Desk – basically cheap, wooden desk – faces out…two old cloth chairs are in front of desk. There is a single line phone on the desk. There is a crucifix on the wall. It’s a basic crucifix…no where near as ornate as the bishop’s.  The room has drab wallpaper. The carpet on the floor has seen better days.
